Operations Manager

Insurance as a career found me after a brief time spent as a retail buyer. The industry is far more rewarding than I could have dreamed, and I have spent time learning the many facets of it. Starting in the Claims Department of Safeco Insurance, I moved into training and marketing roles where I developed my love of the independent agency system. Utica National Insurance Company hired me as a senior marketing rep, and from there I went on to lead the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas Association as their Executive Director for 12 years. My longtime friend and colleague Ben Patterson entrusted me with his operations department manager position in 2023, where I get a front row seat on the inner workings of our industry’s salesforce. It is a place that aligns with my values and believes in making a difference every day.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in Clothing, Textiles and Merchandising, and I obtained my Certified Insurance Counselor Designation (CIC). In 2016, I received the Dach Volunteer of the Year award from IIABA for my dedication to improving insurance education and career training for young people. I have served on several boards: NAF Advisory, CTE Industry Leadership Council for DISD and the InterLink Board of North Central Texas.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two Jack Russell Terrier pups that keep things lively.
